Recollecting the memories of Durga Puja!! October 4, 2009

It’s not that easy to leave Kolkata during the puja’s, why ? Do ask this question to anybody who lives in Kolkata… and listen to what he says..!! You will be lost in his words and unconsciously you will feel that somehow you have seen all. This might be the only place in the whole world where Puja holidays are announced as a Red Lettered day!! Well what is Durga Puja to a Bengali…? It is an extraordinary atmosphere that one waits for near about one year to feel the essence of “Kash Ful”, The Heart-throbbing song of Birendra Krishna Bhadra…the Auspicious welcoming of Ma-Durga, the Love,respect given to her daughter when she comes to her maternal place and many more which brings out the true spirit of the Puja’s. Come the month of October..the whole of West-Bengal prepares for the Grand celebration of Durga Puja…Well this year it came a month ago but that didn’t dampen the spirits at all but it was celebrated with more pomp and vigour. We friends enjoyed this Puja very much, we went to Kolkata for three days…and watched all the most stand out Puja’s. Well the Pandals, the interior decoration, the lighting, everything was just perfect. Well now as the puja’s are over we all are sad, but as it will again come next year we feel the deep sense of happiness there. Well last but not the least it feels great to be a Bengali..!!
